Cross town rivals Manchester United and Manchester City are set to go head-to-head for Leicester City’s Harry Maguire.

This is following the conclusion of England’s Nations League campaign, where the defender recently starred in the Three Lions shoot-out win over Switzerland.

A price tag is yet to be placed on the defender’s head, with the Foxes unwilling to sell their prized asset. However, one source has told Sky Sports News the Foxes believe he is worth in the region of £80million – more than the world record set by £75m Virgil van Dijk last year.

Both Manchester clubs are believed to be unwilling to pay such a steep price. If a fee does get agreed though, it will likely be northwards of the £50 million Manchester City paid for Kyle Walker.

Between the two clubs, Manchester City are the more attractive proposition. Able to offer Champions League football, Maguire also has a great chance of succeeding the departed Vincent Kompany.

As things stand, Maguire will remain a Leicester player, with the player said to be thankful to the Foxes for putting their faith in him with a £17m deal from Hull City in 2017. However if there’s a change in stance, there’ll be no shortage of suitors for the English international.
