Who is involved?
Matthijs de Ligt has yet to make a decision regarding his future with Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus all linked to signing him. The Ajax star has performed superbly this season and led the Dutch side to the Champions League semi-final.
What has happened?
There were reports that De Ligt was looking for a home with his family in Paris and a deal could have been agreed between both PSG and the player. However, his agent has since denied those reports.
In addition, Cristiano Ronaldo also asked De Ligt if he would like to join Juventus which led to speculation that the Italian side are keen to sign him too.
Currently in Miami enjoying his summer break, the 19-year-old could make his decision after his holiday.
As reported by RMC Sport and AS, Real Madrid have entered the race to sign the centre-back. He enjoyed a high of 1.5 tackles and 4.2 clearances per game in the Champions League. Given his height, he is also strong in aerial duels and pose a threat in his opponent’s penalty box.
What might happen?
As things stand, clubs are still trying their best to sign the young talent. Until any deal is announced, it looks like speculation could go on.
