Carrasco will face punishment after returning late to Dalian Yifang

Who is involved?

After his failure to turn up for the match against Hebei CFFC, Yannick Carrasco has been suspended by the club in order for him to reflect on his actions. He has also been asked to apologise and pay a fine.

The Belgian has been linked to a move away from China and could possibly return to play in Europe, with Arsenal keen to get him in the squad.

What has happened?

The former Atletico Madrid player left the La Liga side in February 2018 and signed for Dalian Yifang. In 36 appearances for the Chinese club, the 25-year-old has scored 14 times and laid 11 assists for his team.

Arsenal are interested in boosting their attack after the departure of Danny Welbeck. This season, the Gunners have been absolutely reliant on Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Other players such as Alex Iwobi and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have failed to perform on a consistent basis.

What might happen?

Given that Carrasco’s contract comes to an end only in 2022, Dalian Yifang might not be willing to sell him. In this case, the Gunners will have to rely on youngsters such as Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah to improve the club’s attack.
