According to ex-Aston Villa striker Nii Lamptey, Atletico Madrid star Thomas Partey should stay put at Spain rather than move to England or Italy. The 26-year-old midfielder is a a rumoured target for Arsenal who are eager to boost their midfield.

Lamptey (via Standard) explains:

“The country and league he will pick will determine his future. I will advise him to stay in Spain rather than going to England or Italy.

“Per style of play, he can move within Spain and join another top club rather than focusing on the financial gains to move out of the country because that can be suicidal.”

The Ghana international has made over 170 appearances for Rojiblancos thus far and scored 15 goals. However, the Gunners are not the only club who are interested in signing him.

Previously, RMC Sport reported that Paris-Saint Germain also want to sign Partey this summer. Last week, the French football season has officially been declared over and PSG were crowned as the champions of Ligue 1.

Partey currently has a release clause of €50million, but his contract only expires in 2023. Should he seek a move or stay at Atletico Madrid?
